Break the Blues is a short, queer visual novel made for YaoiGameJam2025 where you play as Boris, a man who hasn't fully bounced back after the death of his wife. Deep in the blues, he goes to an isolated spot on the beach that only the two of them knew about.
At least, he thought they were the only ones who knew about it...

Content Warning

Mild content warning for grief, mentions of or allusions to bad parenting and body image issues. This is a demo, but the full game will feature mature themes and humor as well.

Features

• ! This is a short demo made in about 21 days, not the full game
• Nearly 2000 words-long in total (about 10 minutes of playtime if you read fast)
• A mostly linear experience, though there will be choices affecting current and future dialogues (with already one choice in this demo)
• The ability to disable animations if they trouble you in any way
• I've tried out the web version on mobile (Android) and it works fine though the buttons are a little small. Just make sure to rotate your screen before launching the game!

Note for the downloadable version

Fixed the .exe file being flagged as dangerous! Apparently Windows Defender doesn't like Renpy executables having a custom icon...
